Lake & Co. is a woman-owned catering and food service company nestled in the heart of Southern Maine. We’re inspired by great food and drink, creating memories through culinary experience, and taking care of your guests. Our passion is making your next event unique and memorable.
Whether it’s a wedding reception, a corporate gathering, or just a casual Friday night meal, our focus is on delivering top-notch catering while staying approachable and down to earth.
We honor culinary traditions while keeping our menus fresh, modern, and easy to serve. Our offerings are as endless as your imagination. From tender red wine braised short ribs to duck confit spring rolls and sea salt chocolate chunk cookies, there’s no limitation on the types of cuisine we can explore together!
Hannah Lake

Hannah isn’t your typical chef with a formal culinary background, she’s actually not a chef. With a background in theater, Hannah brings a fresh perspective to catering in Maine.

Her love of food, a perfect menu, a knack for assembling incredible teams, and her commitment to enjoying every moment sets her apart. Her mantra? “If it’s not fun, what’s the point?”
With a diverse background in theater and event management, coupled with hands-on experience in some of Portland’s most renowned restaurants and catering companies, Hannah brings a fresh perspective to catering in Maine. It’s amusing to her how her career path seamlessly blends her early theater training with her work in the food industry. To her, catering is like putting on a show with food, delighting guests with an experience that’s both meticulously planned and improvised on the spot. Much like a play, event catering requires careful preparation, practice, and design—a challenge that Hannah finds exhilarating.
While Hannah takes the spotlight as the face of Lake & Co., her husband Chuck plays an important role behind the scenes, serving as her partner in both life and business.
Chuck isn’t just Hannah’s husband; he’s her longtime collaborator and confidant. With a background as a classically trained chef, Chuck brings a wealth of culinary knowledge and experience to the table. Chuck often makes surprise guest appearances at events and assists with team management and business decision-making.
Chuck’s support extends far beyond the professional. He plays a vital role in helping Hannah find the balance between work and family life, ensuring that she can fulfill her roles as both a dedicated mother and a passionate business owner. “I couldn’t have done it without him,” she says.”

At Lake & Co., Kate’s role is making sure all details and logistics are considered & honored. She is our lighthouse. The beacon to which we all look to when we need direction.

She knows what is going on and who is on it at all times. Her scope ranges from staffing to scheduling, event coordinating, logistics extraordinaire, and somehow supporting everyone at Lake and Co. simultaneously. Her goal is to make sure that no detail is missed and to execute each client’s particular vision for their specific event. In addition, Kate designs all of our merchandise, menus and signage for events. She works mostly behind the scenes, however, she is occasionally on site as well!

From writing elaborate multi-course wedding menus, grilling up a casual BBQ spread, or designing something completely special, your event should be yours and it should feel like there’s never been a day like it before.

The Lake & Co. Story
While working in Portland restaurants, Hannah would often find herself in a management role. She enjoyed being a leader and overseeing how the system worked as a whole – from managing staff to executing food and focusing on the guest experience. Recognizing her knack for this role and encouraged by positive feedback from colleagues, she envisioned creating something of her own.When the beloved west-end catering company Aurora Provisions sold, Hannah knew it was now or never. With the support of both the clients and staff from that establishment giving her the fuel to put her ideas to paper, she created Lake & Co. Catering in early 2018.
We started small that summer with only a few events, working alongside friends and coworkers from the industry. Through word of mouth, we started growing and taking on more events. However, when a global pandemic affected us all, events were canceled for the foreseeable future. Hannah thought to herself, “How can we use our services to help those around us?” and saw an opportunity to pivot. Within 72 hours of a weekend, we introduced Take Home by Lake & Co., coming up with a small menu and sending it to clients, not sure what would happen. Before we knew it, we were doubling our orders every week, delivering meals to frontline workers and community members. What was a plan to keep us afloat during the pandemic turned into a key aspect of Lake & Co.
As events resumed, we put more focus on catering and kept take-home meals due to popular demand. In 2022, our growth meant we were too big to be a part of Fork Food Lab in Portland, and we needed our own space! In the spring of 2023, we moved to our new kitchen in Yarmouth. Now, we’re expanding our take-home services, doing more events than ever, and looking forward to what the future holds while focusing on quality over quantity.
